Why a single malt range?
Our single malt range highlights what is too often overlooked in whisky: the origin of the grain and the terroir.
Here, it is not the cask that speaks first, but the barley and the soil in which it grew.
To achieve this, we use oak barrels that have already been used several times, so that they impart only a slight woodiness and leave plenty of room for the juice to express itself.
The plot: Rouge Côte
Rozelieures Rouge-Cote is a unique unpeated whiskey, born from a small 1.9-hectare plot facing south on a clay-limestone hillside. This demanding and sunny terroir reveals all the aromatic richness of the barley grown on our Lorraine estate, offering a single-plot whiskey that is precise, elegant, and deeply rooted in its origins.
This type of approach, very common in wine, remains extremely rare in the world of whiskey. Why? Because very few distilleries control the entire production chain, from barley cultivation to bottling.
At Rozelieures, we go even further:
We even have our own malting facility, which allows us to malt small batches of barley from each plot separately. This is what makes our work so precise, so traceable, and so faithful to our terroir. We write all this information on the bottles!
Enjoy your tasting!
